Looking for a foster home
Sarah, Sophie and Marie are Cree siblings who are in need of a respite foster home, one weekend a month – from Friday evening to Sunday evening.
The sisters are very close, and play well together. Sarah, 9, is especially affectionate and shows it, and she is very protective of her younger siblings. Marie, 3, is a warm, delightful and an active child who loves to play. Sophie, 7, is monitored closely by the Montreal Children’s Hospital because of a medical condition that makes it necessary for her to be on a special diet with restricted fluid intake.
Caring for Sophie can be challenging, as she needs to be watched to ensure she does not drink excessively. Sometimes, while her parents are sleeping, for example, she gets up at night for a drink of water. Despite her medical condition, she is remarkably full of life.
Ideally, they will find a family with two Cree parents; however, a single-parent family would be acceptable. Sarah, Sophie and Marie like being around other children, so a family with children in the same age group would be a good match.
