Twilight Turnout Bigger than Expected
In a scene that can only be compared to American Idol auditions, thousands of Canadian and American First Nations individuals flocked to Vancouver for a shot to appear in the sequel to the blockbuster hit, Twilight.
The casting-call ad, placed on the Craigslist website, called for “any First Nations/Aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25” for the February 9 auditions.
Though some flew in from as far as Florida and many started queuing up as early as 5:00am to get a shot at auditioning. By 12:30pm, the casting directors stopped allowing applicants through the doors due to the overwhelming response.
Sadly, many frustrated hopefuls walked away in tears having missed their shot at fame this time around.
