Foster home sought

A long-term foster home is being sought for four-year-old May, a shy energetic child who enjoys music, loves to play dress up and seems to be more comfortable in the company of adults. She is currently in an emergency foster home and is in need of a permanent home. May has suffered much instability throughout her young life and has shown significant progress in adjusting to rules and routine in her present environment.

May has a history of neglect lacking in activities to stimulate her development, resulting in developmental delays in her ability to speak. Thus it is sometimes difficult to understand her as she has a hard time expressing herself. May is receiving services in the community.

May’s parents are unable to care for her. She needs a family who can make a long-term commitment, and which will be open to structured visits from her parents. The ideal foster family would be a two parent Cree/Soto or a couple of Aboriginal heritage for as long as she needs.
