On the Road to Victory
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer benefiting the Jewish General Hospital is a 60-km, two-day walk and is scheduled each summer in Montreal on August 23 and 24. This has been a great privilege for me and my husband to walk for the second time in this event. It is an important cause to be considered for all women and survivors like me.
You see I am a breast cancer survivor going on my 4th year and I am walking in faith and hope in God and this is why I continue to walk each summer for this cause. I want to do all that I can do since I am here and well.
This year I walked with a team, Team Hope, and it included my husband Paul, my daughter Beverly and my sister Suzanne Bush. I thank each one of them for coming with me on this walk. I salute them for being courageous and brave. You endured all the blisters, hot days and the long, long walk. We did it! I also want to recognize the other ladies from Waswanipi who participated in the walk along with one other survivor from Chisasibi, Hilda Spencer.
I personally want to thank all out sponsors that donated to this important cause, without your donations we could not have done this walk. The Weekend to End Breast Cancer raised $6 million to go towards breast cancer research and treatments. This is where all your dollars are spent at the Jewish General Hospital’s Segal Cancer Centre. Thank you for giving us the chance to participate in the walk. You are the heroes!
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!
